Where the sender comes from
honest limitA browser can't see who sent a shared file — WhatsApp hands over the bytes and nothing else. Here you pick the chat when you add files, and the sample generator maps itself to your chat list. The native Android build reads the sender from a notification listener instead.

stays installedOnce added to the home screen, SmartGate runs in its own window, works with no signal, and stays there until you delete it — no App Store, no rebuild, nothing to expire.
- Open this page in Safari (Chrome on iOS cannot install web apps).
- Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow, in the toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Launch SmartGate from the home screen icon at least once, so iOS keeps its offline copy.
iOS clears a website's offline cache after 7 days of not being opened — but a web app on the home screen is exempt, and your queue, vault and PIN live in local storage that is never cleared.
On Android use Chrome: menu ⋮ → Install app (or Add to Home screen). Installed, SmartGate also shows up in the share sheet, so WhatsApp can hand it photos directly.
Look for Install or Add to Home screen in your browser menu. Desktop Chrome and Edge install it as a normal app window.
