Waiting room

Measuring device storage…
Nothing is waiting.
Photos you share from WhatsApp land here instead of your gallery. Keep the good ones in the vault, delete the rest.
Encrypted vault

Saved files are encrypted with a key derived from your PIN. They exist only inside this app — not in your gallery, not on a server.
The vault is empty.
Save something from the waiting room and it lands here — encrypted, searchable, and out of your gallery.

Where the sender comes from
honest limitA browser can't see who sent a shared file — WhatsApp hands over the bytes and nothing else. Here you pick the chat when you add files, and the sample generator maps itself to your chat list. The native Android build reads the sender from a notification listener instead.
Install to catch shares
1 stepSmartGate only appears in Android's share sheet once installed. Browser menu → Add to Home screen. Then: WhatsApp → photo → Share → SmartGate.
Security
PBKDF2 · 210kThere is no recovery. The PIN never leaves this device, so a forgotten PIN means the vault stays encrypted and unreadable.
Retention
48 hHow long anything stays in the waiting room. When time is up it is purged — you never chose to keep it.
Cloud offload
Share sheetMove to cloud hands the file to Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox through the system sheet. SmartGate never stores your cloud credentials and cannot confirm the upload — so it asks before removing the local copy.
Browsers can evict site data under pressure unless storage is persisted.
